Sabaq (New Lesson)
Best memorized right after Fajr prayer when the mind is freshest. Listen to a proficient Qari 3 times before memorizing to avoid cementing pronunciation errors.
Sabqi (Recent Juz Revision)
Recite the last 3–5 pages of your current Juz before presenting today's Sabaq. Never skip Sabqi; this is the bridge that turns short-term memory into permanent retention.
Manzil / Dhor (Older Juz)
Rotate through previously memorized Juz. For students with 5+ Juz, recite at least 1 full Juz daily. For 15+ Juz, recite 2 Juz daily during revision periods.

This calculator uses the standard 604-page Madani Mushaf layout and factors in your weekly schedule plus revision buffer periods. While every student's natural retention differs, this provides a realistic, statistically proven completion timeline.
How long does it typically take to memorize the entire Quran?
For a student memorizing 1 page per day (5 days a week), completion takes approximately 2.5 to 3 years. For students memorizing 5 lines per day (weekend or after-school programs), it typically takes 5 to 7 years. Full-time students memorizing 2 pages daily often complete in 18 to 24 months.
Why does the calculator include a revision buffer?
Hifz is 20% memorization and 80% retention. As you memorize more Juz, the daily time required for Sabqi (recent review) and Manzil (older review) increases. The buffer accounts for consolidation weeks, Ramadan breaks, and exam preparation.
What is the recommended daily time commitment for Hifz?
Beginner students memorizing 5–10 lines daily generally require 45 to 60 minutes. Intermediate students memorizing 1 full page daily typically require 1.5 to 2 hours (45 mins for new Sabaq, 30 mins for Sabqi, and 45 mins for Manzil revision).
